Steven Burkett II started his competitive SCCA events as an autocrosser (Solo II) with a 1993 Mazda RX7 in 1998. He went from Solo II Super Stock to A prepared in 2000 and began building his first racecar for club racing for the 2000 race season in 1999. Steven progressed from regional driver in SCCA club racing to a national driver running E Production with a Mazda RX-7.

In 2005, Steven left his job at Tripos to work fulltime on his race and sports car prep business. During that time he migrated to racing the Mazda RX-8 and Mazda Miata. The summer of 2008, Steven took a hiatus from racing to focus on getting his undergraduate and masters in Mathematics at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

The racing bug caught up with him in 2011 and he bought a 1985 Mazda RX-7 E Production car to start racing again. After running several Solo II events with the car (and breaking it several times) he got back on the race track in 2012. Steven is currently working on his PhD in Mathematics at UMSL and is a part-time computer consultant.

The following pages contain illustrated examples of many of the species found at the Race Track, an area measuring approximately 25 acres prized for being the heart of the village’s biodiversity. Included also are fish found in the Tuxedo lakes.
